Put KidsTube on your home screen
KidsTube can sit on the home screen with its own icon and open full screen, the way an app does — one tap, no address bar, and no browser tabs for a child to wander into. There is nothing to download and no app store account needed.
How to add it
The steps differ per device — find yours below.
iPhone and iPad
Safari- Open kids-tube.com in Safari.
- Tap the Share button — the square with an arrow coming out of it, at the bottom of the screen.
- Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add. KidsTube is now on the home screen with its own icon.
It has to be Safari — on iPhone and iPad, other browsers have no Add to Home Screen.
Android phones and tablets
Chrome- Open kids-tube.com in Chrome.
- Tap the three dots at the top right.
- Tap Add to Home screen, then Install.
Some phones say Install app instead of Add to Home screen. It is the same thing.
Computers
Chrome or Edge- Open kids-tube.com in Chrome or Edge.
- Click the install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar — a screen with an arrow pointing into it.
- Click Install. KidsTube opens in its own window from then on.
Safari on a Mac has no install button; use Add to Dock in the File menu instead.
What it changes
Opens straight into KidsTube
One tap from the home screen, no address bar to type into and no browser tabs to get lost among. It opens on the KidsTube homepage every time.
Full screen, without the browser around it
No address bar, no tab strip, no back button pointing at whatever was open before. A child sees KidsTube and nothing else.
Its own icon, like any other app
The KidsTube icon sits on the home screen next to everything else. A child who cannot read yet can still find it.
Nothing to download
No app store, no account with Apple or Google, and no update to install later — it is the website, so it is always the current version.
Your favorites come with it
Log in once and the hearts you saved are there, the same list as on the website, because it is the same site.
Works on any device
Phone, tablet or computer. Put it on as many as you like — there is no limit and no licence.
